General InformationImage Language courses at the Lake Tahoe Institute of English (http://www.tahoeenglish.com/) offer flexible and professionally-oriented English language training through total immersion in an American English-language environment, combined with intensive entertainment! The classes and the method of teaching are developed for each student individually, depending on your current level of the English, and your own business and personal goals. Being immersed in English, you will be able to master the language naturally and on a systematic basis. In addition, you will familiarize yourself with American customs, lifestyle, communication manners, American business culture and leisure activities! These aspects of English cannot be experienced in an ordinary classroom. Training Program The total immersion method is the most effective in learning a foreign language. At the courses, you will spend 10-12 hours every day communicating with highly educated qualified native American English speaking instructors with extensive professional and business experience. The student-instructor ratio is one-to-one, and only rarely as high as two-to-one. The program includes:  • Exercises to increase fluency of speech and writing skills in general, and fluency in specialized fields of the participant’s choice; • Conversation practice in social and business environments; • Everyday practice of telephone negotiations and multi participant telephone conferences; • Learning idiomatic expressions used in business and everyday communication; • Constant learning (the recommended course duration is 7-21 days); • Everyday cultural activities and outdoors recreation. Flexible Schedule The integrated learning system allows you to master the language and at the same time enjoy fantastic local recreational activities at world-famous Lake Tahoe. (Lake Tahoe’s “sister” lake is Lake Baikal!) Depending on your personal interests and on the time of the year, the conversation can continue during biking, strolling along the picturesque lake, exciting snowmobile tours, excursions to the extraordinary Black Rock Desert, or visiting the Yosemite National Park. If you would like to take a break in studies, the schedule will be composed in such a way that language learning is integrated with rest and fun, or with excursions to nearby areas of interest. in the great American West. The Instructors ImageThe main instructors are the directors and owners of the Institute, Boni and Kim LaValley. The LaValleys are certified teachers of English as a second language and certified teachers of Business English. Managers and owners of successful companies in the past, Kim and Boni possess the unique qualifications to teach business English language to professionals, specialists, managers, and executives. The instructors create a very friendly atmosphere that contributes to effective and natural learning. The Accommodations The Institute is located in Incline Village, Nevada, (near the California border) in a beautiful luxury home situated on a golf course near Lake Tahoe in the western United States.
