COURSES

English World Courses

English World courses are suitable for students who want to improve their all round skills and performance in English. The lessons in Regent schools are lively and full of participation, helping you to make fast progress.

In the mornings, speaking, listening, reading and writing are integrated in a carefully structured programme. In the afternoons, you choose a Study Option which focuses on developing particular language skills (e.g. Listening and Pronunciation, Communication Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary), or you may choose Business English Skills or an examination course e.g. IELTS.

All schools have a maximum class size of 12, and average class sizes are even lower. Small class sizes mean teachers can give you the attention you need to make good progress.

English World courses are suitable for all abilities from Beginner to Advanced.

English World Intensive Course

The intensive course comprises 22.5 hours (one hour = 60 minutes) of study per week. This enables you to develop your all-round skills, as well as allowing special focus on specific areas of interest.

ACCOMODATION

Regent offers a wide choice of accomodation. Many students choose homestay - living with local people in their own home. You can have a single room, with somewhere to study. This accommodation provides an ideal opportunity to practise English outside class.
Self-catering or residential accommodation is also available. The standard is usually basic and suits more independent students. Alternatively, hotel accommodation can be arranged.

LEISURE

On Regent’s courses, there are social activities for everyone – from sport and music to shopping and cultural excursions. Typical UK excursions include: London’s West End, Stonehenge, Loch Ness, Leeds Castle, and weekend excursions to Brussels, Dublin or Amsterdam. There is a charge for some social and activity programme events.
The Language in Leisure social and activity programme is designed to help you have fun, make new friends and to discover modern local culture. Often accompanied by your teachers or other school staff, this is the perfect way to have a great time with your friends, practise your English and experience the authentic local culture. At least two events are organised each week.
 

ENGLISH FOR YOUNG LEARNERS

Regent also offers junior residential English language courses in the summer. These stunning residential schools are based in the finest locations in the UK. These English language programmes for children and teenagers combine intensive English language learning with a lively cultural and sports activity programme. During their stay young learners are encouraged to speak as much English as possible.
Students are taught in small (maximum 12) multi-national groups. The focus is on improving communication skills, activating existing knowledge and building confidence. Throughout the course, students create a Personal Portfolio and Diary to record their learning and achievements. Students can expect to make good progress every week - the longer the course, the more their English improves.

The lessons finish, the learning continues

Learning doesn’t just happen during the lessons. Throughout the whole course students develop and practise their English skills – in the school common rooms, in the dining room, in the residential houses, on the activities and excursions. That's why the staff at Regent make the schools friendly and inclusive places where it is easy to make friends and build confidence in another language.

Schools and accommodationImage

Regent’s residential schools are selected for their excellent facilities and secure environments. Students have a single room or share with juniors of different nationalities. Girls and boys are accommodated separately. All meals are taken at the school, except on excursion days when packed lunches are provided. The schools operate a banking service for pocket money and lockable storage facilities for valuables.

Activity and excursion programme

Our activity and excursion programme is packed with sports, excursions, visits and games. There are activities for everyone - from sport and art to shopping and cultural excursions.
